Long serving councillor Peter Halse was officially sworn in as the new Mayor of Honiton.
Invited guests, including past town mayors and fellow councillors, were in attendance at a mayor making ceremony held at the new Beehive community centre in Dowell Street.
He takes over from Councillor David Foster. Cllr Halse has served on the town council for more than 25 years and also sits on East Devon District Council.
Councillor John Zarczynski takes on the role of deputy town mayor.
