Don’t be fooled by internet scammers.
EAST DEVON residents are being urged to be on the look out for internet scammers.
The warnings come after a number of residents in Devon were conned by an internet scam claiming they had won thousands of pounds.
Many of the victims have been contacted through MSN.
The recipient will then pay amounts of money, ranging from hundreds to thousands of pounds via Western Union to countries abroad such as Nigeria.
The police believe those behind the scam appear to be targeting vulnerable people, especially the deaf community
People are advised not to reply to these messages and never to send money to an unsecured and unknown source.
