Investment boost for care homes?

Care homes in Devon could receive a boost of more than £10 million.
The County Council has announced investment plans, which would be rolled out over three years in its residential care homes for older people.
The budget, to be agreed by the full council on Thursday, will include an investment of £3.8million this coming year.
Councillor Stuart Barker and cabinet member responsible for social care said this would “remove a lot of uncertainty that has been hanging over our care homes for far too long.”
He added: “We want our homes to be more responsive to local demand, and to be able to meet more specialised care needs in future.
“We know for example that there is a shortfall in Devon for residential care for people with dementia, and our longer term aim is to help meet that growing need.”
Proposals for how the money will be spent are still under discussion.
