A COLYTON man will be showing what mettle he is made of when he takes part in the grueling Iron Man triathlon next month.Steve White, 43, from Moorfields, will be taking on the challenge for the third time on September 7 to raise money for Brainwave.Competitors start at 6am at Sherborne with a 2.4-mile swim in a lake, a 112-mile bike ride and finish off with a 26.2 mile marathon run.Steve, who has also taken part in seven half Iron Man sessions, said: "I'm doing it because it's difficult and it takes a long time to get to this level of fitness."And I'm not getting any younger so I'll do it while I can. I'm hoping to do beat my record of 11 hours and 55 minutes."I'm looking forward to it - I absolutely can't wait. I feel confident and ready."I'm raising money for Brainwave as it's a charity I've been involved with before. It's the first time I've raised money for an event like this. I think Brainwave's a great local charity and it will be for a good cause.
