A task for everyone.

It was lovely to see the year 6 children at our local primary school come home with their new ‘hoodies’ on last week – with all of their names formed into a ‘13’ to mark their final year.

It was obvious from the glow that came from them that they all felt special and felt they ‘belonged’, and I’m impressed that the school though of and arranged this.

In my local churches we’ve been talking about the difference between things being ‘good enough’ and making people feel special – the Bible talks about hospitality and welcome being spiritual gifts and in Jesus teaching we see people who go above and beyond to care for and welcome others: the good Samaritan, the prodigal father, the good shepherd and others.

God wants you to know you are loved and special, and it’s everyone’s task and calling to make one another feel that way.
