Uplyme B&B receives a third major award for the quality of its guest accomodation

She’s done it again – Uplyme bed and breakfast operator Joy Raymond collected a third major accolade last week.

The Hedgehog Corner hattrick came when she received Devon Tourism’s Gold Award for Guest Accommodation.

Judges said: “Hedgehog Corner offers top-notch guest accommodation with a real focus on service, locality and community and a home from home atmosphere’

The win follows a recent Gold Award in the Taste of the West, swiftly followed by a national Green Tourism in Business Scheme win in the UK GoldStar Awards.

Joy said: “I am amazed to have won three of the main awards for guest accommodation, one after the other. I’m so pleased my perseverance paid off.

“The most important thing is that guests enjoy visiting our beautiful part of East Devon and that those of us involved in tourism do our best to ensure the visitors make the most of their holiday by recommending places to visit, good pubs and restaurants and the best parking spots.”

Joy praised all her supporters and the “exemplary” local tradesmen who helped Hedgehog Corner, including It’s Creative, Coly Electrics, Cottam and Northcott, Alex Burgess Plumbing and Evergreen Renewable Energy, all of whom she described as “absolutely brilliant”.
