It has been noimnated for the title of the UK’s ‘surgery of the year’

Axminster Medical Practice is in the running to be named the nation’s ‘surgery of the year’.

The nomination, a People’s Choice Award, acknowledges its contribution to providing outstanding services in general practice.

The national General Practice Awards are an annual celebration of the hard work, innovation and dedication taking place in primary care across the UK.

Axminster is one of four Devon practices shortlisted for the award, along with others in Exmouth, Exeter and Brixham.

Paul Baker, deputy director of primary care for the two Devon clinical commissioning groups, said: “It’s fantastic news that these outstanding GP services have been recognised in this way.

“The fact that these awards are nominated and voted for by local people and patients is especially heartening.”
