Further to the article on May 27 about my grandson Jack Sutcliffe, I would like to set the record straight. He is not the youngest, but one of the youngest, to climb Everest. The title of the youngest goes to a couple of really remarkable young men - James Hooper and Rob Gauntlet - who were both 19 when they summited in May 2006.
I am extremely proud of my grandson, and full of admiration for the determination, courage and spirit of adventure of all the young climbers who attempt this very challenging experience.
