Judi Spiers is no stranger to Honiton

TELEVISION and radio personality Judi Spiers, who is no stranger to Honiton, will officially open a new shop in High Street on Saturday (May 17).

TELEVISION and radio personality Judi Spiers, who is no stranger to Honiton, will officially open a new shop in High Street on Saturday (May 17).A great cat-lover, she has agreed to open the new Honiton Cats' Protection charity shop. The shop, formerly of Black Lion Court, is relocating. It is moving to premises, vacant for a considerable period of time, which needed upgrading. The charity has carried out the necessary work, in a bid to ensure it can continue to raise funds needed in the EX14 postcode area. Every penny it raises is spent locally.Judi has a great sense of humour and shared it with Honitonians when she was a celebrity judge at a children's fancy dress competition, held during the late 1970s in the Mackarness Hall. A rather shy young girl, dressed as a flapper, took third prize.Judi will open the new shop, near the Baptist Church, at 2pm. All welcome.
