Operators of Seaton Jurassic’s new café are doing their bit to serve up the best food from local producers.
The £4million visitor attraction, which welcomed more than 20,000 visitors since opening in April, is proud to promote a taste of Devon to its customers.
Owned by East Devon District Council and operated by the Devon Wildlife Trust, the centre has a strong emphasis on supporting local producers and reducing the food miles of the snacks and meals it sells in its bustling café.
Seaton Jurassic’s manager, Mike Ruiter, said: “We’ve worked hard to research and source good local produce for our visitors. Approximately 80 per cent of our food and drink comes from within 20 miles of Seaton. All our cakes are made on the premises, while our fish dish of the day relies entirely on what our chef can buy from the Lyme Bay Fish Shack.”
Other local suppliers include vegetables from Elbow Farm, Beer and bacon from Denhay, Honiton.
