A MAN had to be rescued by coastguards after his kayak capsized and threw him into the River Axe, Seaton.

A MAN had to be rescued by coastguards after his kayak capsized and threw him into the River Axe, Seaton.

Sidmouth Lifeboat and a helicopter was launched at 12.15pm on Sunday, April 4. The man was picked up by a local boat.

The lifeboat attended offshore at Axe harbour, where the man was stretchered off the boat.
