Independents ‘best option’

Regarding the letter (‘Stand up and be counted’, published in the Herald last week)... While I do agree with Jon Underwood that any party in total charge of a local authority for such along time would become complacent and that better representation is now needed, I don’t believe that the Liberal Democrats are the only alternative for the people of East Devon.

Independent councillors are the best option, as their focus is on their ward members only.

Residents get fed up of political battles between parties and just want a local authority working hard for those who pay for it.
