MOTORISTS in Axminster have been urged to cut their speed as police use new equipment to tackle the problem.

MOTORISTS in Axminster have been urged to cut their speed - as police use new equipment to tackle the problem.The device, which will be based in the town at variable times - is called a non-enforceable advisory - and has a large monitor which indicates drivers' speeds.Neighbourhood beat manager Pc Darren Herridge said: "If we catch people speeding they will either be spoken to or they will receive a letter advising them that they have been caught speeding on this equipment." He warned that action would be taken against drivers caught speeding on more than one occasion.
