Donkey drafted in for procession through the village
A DONKEY was borrowed from a nearby sanctuary to help members of two Kilmington churches celebrate Palm Sunday, in authentic fashion, yesterday.
The procession, led by Reverend Alastair McCollum of St Giles, and Darrell Holmes, of the Baptist church, held prayers at several strategic spots, including the New Inn and Koppers nursing home.
The procession recreated the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, with crowds waving palm leaves.
