Please, may I use your letters page to say a BIG heartfelt thanks to a group of good Samaritans who assisted my daughter Laura on Friday, February 29, when her car went off the road on Honiton common? I should very much like to say special thanks to two gentlemen, knights in shining armour - or more to the point, overalls and a tractor - a far more practical solution to towing out the car from a ditch than armour and a horse! They not only got her car back on the road but one of them drove her home and the other brought the car back safely. My second special thanks goes to two ladies, in particular, who helped Laura. One ensured that I was informed of what had happened and the other very kindly offered tea and refreshments to Laura whilst sitting her down and re-assuring her that everything was going to be OK.The actions of these four strangers, and I am sure there were others, too, who stopped to make sure the situation was under control, really restores my faith in human nature. We are always hearing of the bad side of people's actions and I feel we do not always get to see and hear about the good deeds that take place. So, in summary, as a mother, I say a very big thank you to you all for looking after my little girl.NAME & ADDRESS SUPPLIED
