THE only cashpoint machine in Lace Walk, Honiton, has been saved - thanks to people power.Local residents complained when the service was withdrawn, without consultation.Insufficient use was cited when a poster announced the cashpoint's withdrawal.Tony Simpson, of Ashleigh Road, was among those to protest against the closure."I am assured the ATM should be up-and-running by the time you read this," he told the Herald. "The message is: use it or lose it."A notice in the window of nearby Co-op says the service was due to be resumed on Monday, June 23.Mr Simpson said the service had already been withdrawn when previous posters, giving a June 25 closure date, were posted.
