Around 100 equestrian fans were thrilled to be allowed to watch a very special demonstration in Axminster last month.
Horse lovers flocked to the Lamberts Castle Riding Club event on Friday, June 25 to watch a lecture and demonstration by trainer Nejc Turinek, formerly of the Lipica Stud Farm in Slovenia.
Open to club members as well as non-members, the outdoor evening entertainment began with Nejc talking to the audience about his horses and his methods, followed by a number of demonstrations by the South West Formation Riders and Nejc himself.
Nejc spent 10 years training horses at the Lipica Stud Farm under the direction of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, training horses in the classical way, and he gave visitors an insight into some of those methods.
Trained by Nejc, the South West Formation Riders gave a fantastic display of a musical ride as a finale.
Hosted by riding club chair Jane Rogers and her husband, Jon, at their home at Wyke, Axminster, the lecture-demo was finished off with a barbecue and raffle with guests able to chat with Nejc and his team.
Jane said: “Everyone seemed very pleased to be able to come out to an event. The demonstration was very well received by those who attended.
“The money we raised will go towards helping to fund Lamberts Castle Riding Club’s future events.”
