Bomb disposal experts called after object found on beach

BOMB disposal experts were called to Lyme Regis yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, February 14) after reports that a land mine had been uncovered on the beach.

An area around the harbour was cordoned off by coastguard rescue officers and Dorset police before the team from Plymouth arrived.

After inspecting the object the experts reported that it was safe.
