Worshippers arrived to find thieves had got away with almost three quarters of the lead from the roof
Worshippers arrived at St John the Baptist Church, in Membury, yesterday (Sunday) morning to find thieves had stolen most of the lead off the roof.
Police say it was removed some time between 5pm on Saturday, September 8, and 9am the following morning.
In all, about three quarters of the total amount of lead on the roof was taken.
