We have another citizen co-opted onto the council. Why is it that, when there is a vacancy on the council, no one comes forward to put themselves up for election by the community, yet they are willing to go before the council and be interrogated?

In my opinion, if there is more than one person willing to stand for the council, the council should call a public meeting and let the candidates complete their presentation in front of that meeting.

Then, the winning candidate could say he was voted in by the community and not by a town council; that’s democracy.
