Take part in a a country-wide bell ringing to celebrate the Olympics.

Celebrate the first day of London Olympic and Paralympics games in chime, with Turner Prize winner Martin Creed, who’s inviting everyone throughout the UK to join together to celebrate the opening of the Olympic Games,

The prize winning artist is calling on members of the public to ring ‘all the bells in the country’ for three minutes at 8.12am on Friday, July 27.

Children with hand bells, bicycle bells and door bells, to experienced change ringing experts of tall tower bells, can join in.

This unique London 2012 celebration commission, is the festival’s biggest community project and is offering everyone in the UK the opportunity, to be not only part of work by a Turner Prize-Winner artist and musician, Martin Creed, but also London’s 2012 history.

All the bells will be broadcasted by the BBC to a potential live audience of over 10 million people across the UK on TV, radio and online.

Martin Creed said “It’s by people and for people. On the morning of the opening of the Games, it’s a massive signal that something’s happening.”
