Listen to God.
Those who work for the church are meant to go away each year on ‘retreat’, a time for praying, reading, silence and (if you’re me) motorbike riding!
On the budget boat trip to France that started my retreat this year I met lots of bikers, including one called Dave, who recommended I dump my planned 500 mile motorway route and try the French equivalent of ‘A’ roads, so I did, and, without a map, I got lost.
I soon found my way again and my unintended detour took me some amazing places I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
The best part of my trip, by far. We are so used to doing things our own way - I think part of having faith is being willing to listen to a God who says “do things differently” - that’s when the true adventure begins!
