I wish to reiterate that my primary concern was not the planned move from the Town Hall, which may be the best thing to happen to Seaton for years, but the complete lack of public consultation in this process.

I wish to reiterate that my primary concern was not the planned move from the Town Hall, which may be the best thing to happen to Seaton for years, but the complete lack of public consultation in this process.

To claim we will be consulted if and when they get Willoughby House is disrespectful at the very least and will not be public consultations, of which there has been none at all, so please do not confuse them with being asked what you think.

There should always be complete transparency in local government, especially where large amounts of our money is concerned: whether it should happen, what, where, when it should happen, and how it should be financed.

Many of our councillors were voted in under the Stand Up For Seaton banner and with that, we all hoped that things were going to change.

A more open council, a council that believed in hearing, and acting on, public opinion and views, indeed public consultation was very much a key phrase used in most of Mrs Semple's campaigning blogs for Stand Up For Seaton. Where is the public consultation now?

Our town council will buy (or has already bought or agreed to buy) a derelict property with our money with no public consultation whatsoever.

This needs to stop right now!

Seaton has been sold down the river many, many times over the years and we must make sure this is the right decision for every Seaton ratepayer, not just a few. A meeting must be arranged where members of the public can have their views heard and their questions and concerns can be answered. If the finance and the sums add up and the argument to buy is a sound and viable one we can all go forward together.

That's how local council should work, isn't it?
