Popular 21-year-old from Honiton can now fulfil his dream to participate in sports.

Liam Sparks, 21, has become the 56th recipient of a mobility aid from the Honiton-based Joe Gilson Mobility Scheme.

Mr Sparks, a popular member of the community in Honiton, has no femurs and has always wanted a sports wheelchair.

When a local woman donated one to the scheme, the charity’s founder, Carol Gilson, did not hesitate to present it to him.

She was joined by her grandson, Luke, and, together, they also presented Mr Sparks with a holdall full of new sports gear.

Carol said: “It is nice to help a young person for a change and I hope that Liam will fulfil his dream of participating in sports even though his condition restricts him.”
