Teenagers’ inflatable dinghy blown towards rocks near Lyme Regis
Lyme Regis lifeboat was launched last night (Thursday, July 25) after cries for help were heard from two 13-year-old girls whose inflatable dinghy had been blown towards rocks.
The teenagers were close to Broad Ledge, near the town’s museum, when the alarm was raised.
The lifeboat was launched at 6. 11pm, but the girls, on holiday from the Midlands, managed to make their way safely ashore where they were met by coastguards, and the lifeboat was stood down just ten minutes after launching.
