Lyme RNLI team celebrate helmsman’s 50th birthday

LYME lifeboat helmsman Rob Crabbe found himself all at sea when colleagues sprung a surprise party for him at the weekend.

They lured him to the Cobb Arms for Saturday’s celebrations – two days in advance of his 50th birthday.

Rob, of Uplyme, has been a helmsman for 12 years, but the milestone means he is now no longer a sea-going crew member.
