Lyme Regis RNLI crew called to assist boat which was unable to make port because of rough sea conditions
Lyme Regis lifeboat was scrambled late last night (Tuesday) to help a boat struggling in rough sea conditions.
The motor catamaran DAJO, was on route from Dartmouth to Chatham, via Portland, when the skipper called coastguards for help.
One of the two people on board had little maritime experience and because sea conditions were bad, the vessel was unable to enter Lyme Regis harbour as planned.
The RNLI inshore lifeboat was launched at around midnight, and assisted the boat into West Bay harbour to await more favourable conditions.
