A WOMAN is hoping an appeal through the Herald will help her find the father she has never met.

Linda Brown nee Fritz, 29, was born in Belfast, but believes her father hailed from Honiton.

"He was serving in the Army and was based in Belfast when he met my mum, Evelyn," said Linda, who is happily married with three children and now lives in Dorset.

"They were never married and split up, I believe before I was born.

"My mother always told me that he knew about me. I wasn't given his name. Instead, on my birth certificate, my surname was written as Fritz.

"It would mean the world to me to meet him. I don't want to cause any trouble, just meet my dad."

Linda, who is a keen darts player and a regular gym-goer, works as a supervisor in a large retail outlet.

Her children are aged 11, four and 19 months.

She hasn't been in touch with her mother for four years and says: "As you get older, you realise you shouldn't always believe what you are told.

"I have been told that my father never met me.

"I understand that he had a family after he split up with my mother."

Linda was born in central Belfast on November 16, 1979.

Are you her dad?
