Dame Hilary Mantel said: "We are delighted to present a diverse and exciting programme we hope will appeal to a wide range of tastes. This is our eleventh year; with its unique location and committed workers, the Festival has prospered beyond all expectations. We are proud of our sharp and sparky audiences, and grateful to our generous sponsors.

"Please come and enjoy our writers, our hospitality, the friendly services of our tireless volunteers, our seascape, winds and tides, our words as endless as pebbles on the beach."

In addition to a wide range of author events, the Festival programme also includes a creative writing workshop with novelist and director of the Fiction Programme at Faber Academy Richard Skinner, as well as memoir writing, brush lettering and stationery making workshops.
