A donation of £500 has been made to Stockland Primary Academy’s new library by Honiton and District Lions Club.

Earlier this year, the school asked if the Lions club could assist with car parking at the village’s Goren Farm festival.

Lion Bob Francis said: “The club decided that instead of accepting funds towards their own charities, it would add funds instead.

“All the club members commented on their visit, about it being such a pleasant, well-run village school, and then being given opportunity for the Lions to contribute towards the final establishment of this needed school library was an easy ask. As the club understands, friends and parents have worked very hard to give this school a small but dedicated building, and Honiton Lions, in its support for educational projects, was only too pleased to hand over the extra funds towards its fitting out and completion.”
