The club donated £500 to Honiton Community College for the purchase of 10 competition specification hurdles.

Students at Honiton Community College will have some new hurdles to jump, thanks to a generous donation from the town’s Lions club.

Honiton Lions’ president, Steve Guilbert, presented a cheque for £500 to Andy Taylor, head of sport and physical education at the college.

The money will be spent on 10 competition specification hurdles.

Mr Guilbert said: “Given the Lions’ support for youth, this was an easy decision.”

Andy Taylor, Hannah Bown and members of the college’s athletics club took delivery of their first 10 hurdles.

They will be used to replace the college’s old lightweight hurdles.
