Seaton fund-raisers ready to tour the streets handing out sweets and collecting money for a worthy cause
Seaton and District Lions are gearing up for their annual Christmas collections.
Members are preparing Santa’s sleigh ready to tour the streets, playing carols and handing out sweets to boys and girls.
The money collected on their trips goes towards funding the Lions’ senior citizens’ lunch at Colyford Memorial Hall on December 9.
Each year the club invites 110 local retired folk to a Christmas dinner which is prepared and cooked by the Lions who then wait on the tables. Members also provide the transport to ferry their guests to and from the event. During the meal the guests will be entertained by local singer Mary Bowles.
