CANNABIS use could be considered as 'acceptable' in Axminster, judging by police stops. Despite the government recently reclassifying cannabis to a more serious class B drug,PC Darren Herridge told councillors this week that of 10 people stopped in the area, three had cannabis on them. He said: "This is an indication that it is an accepted part of life."But force policy had not changed, he advised.People could be warned or arrested, depending on the circumstances, such as if they had previous convictions.
