Jim Knight and Stephanie Jones recently wrote a letter referring to the Seaton Tesco application.

It is revealing that they started their letter with ‘Elected by the people of Seaton to represent them….’

Given that they recognise this, why did they then choose to ignore the people of Seaton and the town council’s wishes?

They also talk about Tesco in relation to Seaton regeneration. Do they really think that the regeneration of Seaton will be assisted by the creation of a store of the size that Tesco plan? And, in their regeneration planning, have they made an assessment of how many bakers, greengrocers, newsagents, etc., are likely to close, with their associated loss of jobs, as a result of this development?
