Lifeboat called to help yachtsman whose engine had failed as daylight was fading
Lyme Regis RNLI lifeboat was launched on Saturday (April 12) to rescue a lone sailor whose yacht developed engine trouble off Abbotsbury.
Coastguards asked the lifeboat crew to assist the skipper of the 23foot Volta which was close to shore with darkness falling.
The yacht, which was en-route from Lulworth Cove to Fowey, was towed by the lifeboat to the safety of West Bay harbour
