Lord Fellowes will make a guest appearance at the town’s lifeboat week
Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is to make a guest appearance during the Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week.
Lord Fellowes of West Stafford, who lives in Dorset and was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of the county in 2009, will be visiting the resort on the fourth day of RNLI’s major fundraising event, Tuesday, July 31
His visit will include meeting the volunteer crew at the lifeboat station and fundraisers running many of the events on the day.
Lord Fellowes said: “I know the volunteers put a great deal of effort into raising funds for the RNLI charity and I am looking forward to my visit.”
Lifeboat Week, which is organised by the Lyme Regis and Charmouth RNLI Guild and the lifeboat crew, raises an average of £30,000 each year.
Amongst the top attractions will be the Army’s crack parachute display team, the Red Devils. Full details with dates and timings appear in the official Lifeboat Week programme.
