AS recorded crime in Honiton fell again, to just 50 offences last month, a town and district councillor has expressed concern that the town may lose police officers.

"If crime is so low, could Honiton lose police officers?" Councillor Peter Halse asked Neighbourhood Beat Manager Pc Ian Atyeo at the annual meeting of Honiton Town Council on Monday night.

Pc Atyeo said staffing levels were very unlikely to change and that response officers from across a number of towns already work together as a section.
