Car ended on its roof after swerving to avoid a white van, say police who have appealed for witnesses
Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage driver’s car hit a telegraph pole and overturned on the A3052 Seaton to Lyme Regis road yesterday morning (Thursday, March 5)
Officers say the Toyota Aygo, being driven westwards, had to swerve to avoid a white van travelling in the opposite direction. The Toyota then collided with a telegraph pole, breaking it half and came to a rest on its roof.
The driver, an 18-year-old woman, from Seaton, was extremely lucky in that she only sustained a minor injury to her head, they said.
The road was closed for more than an hour whilst recovery of the vehicle took place.
Police say they would like to hear from anybody who witnessed the collision, especially if they saw a white van in the area at the time.
They should call 101, quoting log number 230 05/03/15
