To mark English Wine Week (June 19 to 27) Aldi is celebrating three years of a successful partnership with Lyme Bay Winery.
Located in Axminster, the winery has supplied Aldi with a range of English wines since 2019 including its premium white, rosé and sparkling English wines.
Founded in 1993, the company is responsible for suppling over 100,000 bottles of English wine each year to Aldi stores across the country.
The partnership has seen Lyme Bay enjoy significant growth over the years, now employing more than 25 people at its winery in Devon where it also produces cider, spirits and liqueurs.
Paul Sullivan, head of sales and marketing, said: “We are so proud of our partnership with Aldi and it has been a great pleasure to supply customers with our wine for the last three years.
“We’ve built a strong relationship with the Aldi team who continuously help us to explore new ways to grow and develop as a business, giving us a steady stream of demand which has been incredibly valuable during the pandemic.”
Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “Lyme Bay has become a trusted partner for Aldi and it has been great to see the business go from strength to strength.
“The partnership we have built is invaluable and we look forward to continuing our work together for many years to come.”
Earlier this year, Aldi committed to spending an additional £3.5 billion a year with British suppliers by 2025. The pledge will help hundreds of British businesses continue to grow with the supermarket and invest for the future.
