LYME Bay Winery has been awarded a one star for three of its products in the 2008 Great Taste Award.

The shop, near Axminster, received acclaim for its cowslip country wine, elderflower sparkling wine and lemon curd with butterscotch liquor.

Compared to the 'Oscars of the food industry' the awards are in their 15th year and are considered the authoritative, independent standard for Britain's fine food sector.

Lyme Bay Winery manager James Lambert said: "We continue to be pleased with our progress. These are very technically difficult products we are making and we are pleased with our first attempt.

"The success is down to all the staff and everybody involved in the process.
