Suspicious object turned out to be a washed up fishing buoy
Coastguard rescue officers from Lyme Regis were scrambled yesterday (Sunday) after fears that an explosive device had been washed up on a beach.
The suspected ordnance was reported by someone walking along the shoreline at Seatown, at around 4pm
But after inspecting it coastguard officers confirmed that it was a harmless fishing net buoy.
