Helicopter joins race to save pensioner from the water
COASTGUARDS from Lyme Regis were scrambled after a pensioner jumped into a river yesterday (Tuesday).
The carer of the 69-year-old man called the emergency services after he went into the water at Tatworth at around 1pm.
Coastguard helicopter Rescue-106 was launched and Lyme Regis coastguard rescue officers were tasked to proceed. As the units were making their way to the scene, the police reported that the man had been recovered safe from the water and that an Ambulance was attending. The units were stood down.
