Youth centre project wins TV vote for a share of the Jubilee People’s Millions
LYME Regis is celebrating today after winning 60,000 in lottery funding for The Hub youth centre.
The town won its Jubilee People’s Millions bid after Westcountry TV viewers voted for it ahead of Portland Gig Rowing Club in a phone-in poll on Tuesday.
News of the award was greeted with celebrations across the town, and especially at Woodroffe School where the youngsters have been campaigning for the project for several weeks.
The money will help refurbish the former Boys’ Club in Church Street so that it can re-open as a youth centre as soon as possible
