Search called off after 90 minutes
Lyme Regis lifeboat was launched at 12.05pm yesterday (Wednesday, October 26) to assist police and coastguards in a search for an elderly man reported missing.
The volunteer lifeboat crew carried out a shoreline search east of Golden Cap, but were stood down after 90 minutes.
This was the 23rd emergency call for the Lyme Regis RNLI volunteers so far this year.
The lifeboat crew was called out the previous evening after four people were said to be stranded on Ridge Cliff, Seatown. It was stood down when it was reported that the four had made their own way to safety.
