Crew returns to base after thorough search of the area
Lyme Regis RNLI lifeboat was called out yesterday evening (Tuesday, August 25) following a report that a person was in difficulties off Freshwater, near West Bay.
After the vessel was launched it was reported that a number of people were involved, and they were now all ashore. Coastguards, however, requested the lifeboat crew to carry out a shoreline search in case anyone was still in the sea.
After a sweep of the shoreline it was established that no one else was in the water and the lifeboat was stood down.
