Fishing contestants spark rescue alert near Seven Rock Point
COASTGUARDS alerted Lyme Regis lifeboat after spotting a weak white light to the west of the resort while they were exercising at Stoneboarrow, near Charmouth, at around 8pm last night (Wednesday).
The RNLI crew made their way to the area of Seven Rock Point to identify its source, which was in a very unusual location, close to shore.
The lifeboat found two anglers there, who were taking part in a bass fishing contest. They were not in any difficulties and required no assistance so the lifeboat was stood down.
