Hunt centred on an area between Seaton Hole and Beer

Lyme Regis RNLI lifeboat was launched yesterday (Saturday, May 14) to carry out a shoreline search following reports of a distressed young woman on the coast between Seaton Hole and Beer.

The lifeboat crew carried out an extensive search, but there was no sign of the woman. Coastguards stood down the lifeboat crew at 11.44a.m. although they continued their search during their return to Lyme Regis harbour.The lifeboat had launched at 10.59am.

It was later established that a young woman was found in undergrowth just off the coastal path.
