Coastguards find man and his daughter had got safely ashore.

Lyme Regis RNLI lifeboat was launched at 3.34pm on Saturday following an eye witness report that two people in a kayak were in difficulties in the Church Cliff area of the resort.

The lifeboat crew found no trace of a kayak, but coastguards ashore found a man and his daughter with a deflated canoe who were in no difficulty despite choppy conditions.

The lifeboat remained on scene until coastguards assured them the couple were safe.
