RNLI crew put to sea after sailor’s 999 call for help
LYME Regis lifeboat went to the aid of a fishing vessel drifting out to sea after its engine failed late last night (Tuesday).
The sole occupant of the 16ft angling boat Seahawk dialled 999 to tell Portland Coastguard his motor had stopped working, some five miles south of the resort.
The RNLI crew towed the boat safely into Lyme Regis harbour where they were met by Lyme Coastguard and the Coastguard Sector Manager.
