Woodroffe students learn about the law
FIFTEEN Lyme Regis schoolchildren appeared at Plymouth Crown Court last week β charged with the task of making a good case.
The Woodroffe comprehensive students were taking part in the Bar Mock Trial Competition organized by the Citizenship Foundation.
The pupils have been honing their legal skills with help from Judge John Riley and won their first case before narrowly missing out I the second round.
Sixth form head James Thomas said: βThe team worked really hard in preparation for the competition and I was proud of them. They supported each other well gaining confidence as the days progressed. They have really benefitted from an exciting learning experience.β
